Open Source Founders Summit: It's Happening!

Back in December I asked if there was any enthusiasm for an intimate conference for founders and leadership for open source companies… and there was. Since then, things have been coming together (thanks in large part to the help of Remy Bertot, co-founder and CTO of Passbolt, who I’m co-organizing the event with), and today I’m announcing Open Source Founders Summit officially. Here’s the details you should know:

— The goal is to bring together founders and leadership of open source companies to talk honestly about challenges and opportunities unique to open source. We’re keeping the event small so people can feel comfortable opening up, we’re also vetting attendees before letting them buy tickets so that we can make sure it’s really all founders / leadership. If you’d like to come, request an invite.

— Our expectation is that people will be able to press pause on their ‘pitch’ mode; the event is about learning, not selling

— We’ve got some awesome speakers already confirmed: Thomas Di Giacomo, CPO of SUSE, Peter Zaitsev of Percona, Frank Karlitschek of NextCloud, Matt Barker of Jetstack, Garima Kapoor of Min.io and Pierre Burgy of Strapi.

— Tickets are on sale already! Early bird tickets are €599, they’ll go up to €799 after 30 tickets are sold.

— Want to help make this event as awesome as possible? Reach out directly if you have feedback you’d like to share about your current top struggles and priorities — we’re happy to talk to as many people as possible so we can really tailor the content to people’s actual needs.

There’s much more information on the website.

Curious how else you can help? Spread the word, buy tickets/ask for an invite, and encourage your founder friends to do the same. If appropriate, consider sponsoring the event.

Regardless, happy new year to everyone on the list — and now you know why it’s been so quiet as I’ve been working to get this project launched!
